Bisly has won the Smart Buildings track of the ABB Startup Challenge 2026, marking a major milestone for the company and opening the door to close collaboration with ABB.
Bisly was selected as the winner for its digital twin-based building automation platform in a challenge focused on making smart home and building solutions faster, simpler and smarter to deploy. For Bisly, this is more than recognition — it is the beginning of a collaboration with ABB to help scale real-world energy innovation.
As the winning startup, Bisly now moves into the next phase of the program: a close collaboration with ABB focused on turning innovation into practical market impact. The program includes funding, pilot opportunities and go-to-market support, creating a strong foundation to bring the solution into real projects and real customer environments.
This milestone is especially meaningful for Bisly as the first Estonian team to partner with ABB through the Startup Challenge. Throughout the process, the Bisly team was impressed not only by the quality of the program, but by its clear commercial focus and strong go-to-market mindset.
“What stood out throughout the challenge was how focused the program was on real outcomes. This was not innovation for innovation’s sake. The mindset was clear: create something that delivers real value and make sure 1+1 equals 3. We are proud to have earned the opportunity to work with ABB and excited to take this into the next phase together.”
Ants Vill, CEO of Bisly.

Bisly’s platform is built around a digital twin-based approach to building automation, helping make buildings more energy-efficient, scalable and easier to manage. Winning the ABB Startup Challenge is a strong validation of that vision and an important next step in bringing simpler, smarter building automation to a wider market.
