On September 4th, we had the pleasure of hosting a Swedish Parliamentary delegation at our Tallinn office. The visit was organised by the Estonian Cleantech Association in collaboration with Bisly.

Why cleantech matters

As we know, 2024 was the hottest year on record, showing that climate change is already here. Rising energy costs and demands make it urgent to act now. In this context, cleantech offers immediate solutions – cutting emissions, reducing waste, and delivering sustainable results. Estonia is becoming a hub for these innovations, and therefore this visit was a chance to show how local ideas are already making an international impact.

Moreover, we can’t afford to wait for technologies that might pay off decades from now. What matters just as much are solutions that deliver results today. Building automation is a perfect example: it doesn’t require reinventing the grid or waiting for new breakthroughs – it’s here, it works, and its impact can be huge. That’s why international cooperation around cleantech isn’t just inspiring, but also essential to drive change where it matters most.

How Bisly helps

Our presentation focused on how building automation can make a real difference in cutting Europe’s energy use. Today, buildings are responsible for around 40% of all energy consumption, yet automation adoption remains low because legacy systems are expensive and complicated.

This is exactly where Bisly comes in – removing those barriers and making automation simple, scalable, and affordable. In other words, our goal is to make smart buildings the norm, not the exception.

Already, we’re seeing strong momentum, with projects being deployed across Germany, the UK, and the Baltics, and first conversations now beginning in Poland. While international adoption is still in its early days, nevertheless, the interest we’re seeing underlines how critical this technology is for markets across Europe.

“If 85% of EU buildings were automated, the potential energy savings could reach 1.6 million GWh annually – close to annual usage of India.”

That’s the kind of step-change needed to move closer to climate goals – not in the distant future, but rather here and now.

A broader cleantech perspective

The delegation also met with several other Estonian cleantech innovators, including Zero Terrain, Qilowatt, H2Electro, Sol Navitas, and GlobeDry. Together, we showcased how Estonian companies are tackling different parts of the energy challenge.

Looking ahead

As Bisly continues to expand into Central and Western Europe, we see strong opportunities for international cooperation to accelerate building automation and support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

A big thank you to Kädi Ristkok from the Estonian Cleantech Association for organising this visit and facilitating such important discussions.
