Building automation that scales, from Tallinn
Bisly is a building automation (BACS) provider with its own BMS, headquartered in Estonia, with offices across Europe and a mission to help buildings save energy. Market leader in the Baltics, with projects delivered in Central Europe and the US.
Why Bisly exists
Buildings emit around 30% of the world’s greenhouse gases and use around 40% of its energy. Automation is one of the most affordable ways to cut that, yet only a small share of buildings have it, and much of what is installed does not work properly.
The founders asked why. The answer was always the same: building automation does not scale. Every project is engineered and programmed from scratch, so it stays expensive and the quality depends on who wrote the code.
Bisly was built to change that, around a universal digital twin, standard system architecture, hardware built to automotive-grade quality, bank-grade security, and central updates down to the sensor. The hardware was developed with leading scientists and first piloted with Bonava, one of the largest residential developers in Scandinavia, at the end of 2020.
Today Bisly delivers commercial, public, residential and build-to-rent buildings across Europe, with key markets in the Baltics, Poland, Germany, the Nordics and the United Kingdom, and a US distribution partnership with IBIS.
Founders
Knew where the cost of automation projects really sits: overheads and on- and off-site coding. Co-founded the automation engineering company DeltaE, and spent nearly 9 years at Skeleton Technologies bringing products to market and building factories.
Software engineer behind the idea of building every process around a universal building configurator, a standard system architecture and cloud computing. Founded Modera, later a Tier 1 supplier to global automotive companies and listed on NASDAQ in 2021.
Knows the potential and the problems of automation systems from building up his own commercial real estate portfolio.
Over 15 years in cloud, IoT and apps, including cloud-driven home automation, before co-founding Bisly.
