As we continue to strengthen our presence across Europe, we’re excited to welcome Salim Seremba as Bisly’s new Country Manager UK & Ireland. With a background in international business and a career driving growth for market leaders, Salim now steps into this pivotal role at Bisly. We sat down with Salim to discuss his previous experience, the growth opportunities he sees for us in the UK, and his plans for establishing Bisly as the go-to partner for smart building automation solutions in the region.
Please tell us a bit about yourself, your background, and previous experience.
I hold a BA Honours degree in International Business. During my studies I had the opportunity to complete a year-long internship split between Mexico and Spain. This was an incredible experience that gave me both cultural fluency and a strong foundation in global business principles. Before graduation, I secured a corporate sales position with a market leader, which set the tone for my career.
Since then, I’ve consistently worked with market-leading organisations across diverse industries developing a track record in driving growth and managing high-value client relationships. For the past five years, I’ve led the growth of the residential market for a Belgian Proptech scale-up, working closely with top-tier developers, architects, smart building consultants and other key stakeholders. This role sparked my passion for the fast evolving smart building and Proptech sector. I’m now eager to bring that expertise and energy to help drive Bisly’s expansion across the region.
How do you see your new role at Bisly and what will be your main focus?
I see this role as both a growth driver and market shaper for Bisly in the UK & Ireland. My main focus will be on establishing Bisly as the go-to partner for smart building automation solutions. I aim to build a robust partner ecosystem of developers, contractors, consultants, and integrators who can champion our technology.
In the short term, this means identifying high potential opportunities, engaging with key decision makers within my network, and securing early flagship projects that demonstrate Bisly’s value in real-world applications. In the longer term, the key will be to focus on building lasting relationships and positioning Bisly as the clear alternative to legacy systems by highlighting our innovation, scalability, patented technology and ease of integration.
What are you most excited for in your new position?
Building up a market that’s ready for innovation. The UK & Ireland are at a turning point when it comes to sustainability, energy efficiency and smarter buildings, and Bisly’s solution is perfectly positioned to lead that change. Shaping how an entire market thinks about building automation – replacing outdated systems but also embedding our solutions into new developments from the onset ensuring they’re future proof, compliant and truly intelligent. The mix of strategy, relationship building and creating real impact in how buildings are built, designed and operated makes this role so exciting.
What makes this role different from your previous positions?
The level of impact – we’re not just selling a product; we’re influencing how both new developments and existing buildings are designed, operated and made more sustainable. The level of influence, combined with the pace and innovation of a start up makes this role uniquely exciting for me.
What kind of opportunities do you see with Bisly’s partners?
I see huge opportunities to create a network of partners who can help us win projects at scale while expanding Bisly’s market reach far beyond what we can achieve alone. This includes developers, architects, M&E consultants, integrators and contractors – each of whom can act as advocates of both us and our solutions.
We just need to look at what we’ve done across the DACH & the Baltic region, with a growing number of partnership agreements signed and projects live, and I have no doubt the UK & Ireland will follow.
How do you see Bisly making a difference in how people view modern living?
Bisly is doing something exciting by blending technology with the human experience of living spaces. By integrating smart systems into buildings, Bisly is not just improving comfort but also empowering residents to take control over their environment. The ability to adjust air quality, lighting, temperature and so much more from a single app makes living spaces feel much more intuitive.
This shift is making people rethink how homes and buildings should function.
What do you most hope to gain from this opportunity?
Bisly is at an exciting stage and leading the UK/Ireland market means I can directly contribute to shaping its presence, forging the right partnerships and establishing Bisly as a true disruptor in the smart building space.
Bisly’s reputation in a competitive market, learning from challenges of scaling a Series A business internationally, building a team and ecosystem that can deliver long-term growth. For me, this role represents the perfect balance of responsibility, entrepreneurial freedom and strategic impact.
